Crowns are fixed prosthetic devices that are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, most commonly used to entirely cover or “cap” a damaged tooth or cover an implant. Crowns are prescribed to restore teeth that have:

– Undergone root canal treatment
– Severe tooth surface loss
– Been heavily restored in the past and are starting to crack
– Replace existing crowns or teeth with poor appearance
– To restore teeth and prevent further breakage

Whether the crown it is of a nobel metal such as gold fused to porcelain, or a full porcelain crown, they can be made to match to the colour of your neighbouring natural teeth.  Here at LPID we make sure your crown addresses both aesthetic and functional needs.

A crown can also be placed on top of an implant to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for normal oral function. To find out more about dental implants click here
